I've got to speak my mind for a minute...
Have any of you seen the ABC show Extreme Home Makeover on Sunday nights? I believe it has just started it's second season. It continues to warm my heart each and every week. To see the team come together every week and fix, or as in tonite's case, totally rebuild homes in just seven days is amazing.
Which leads to what I need to speak about. Why does it take a television show to have these needy families get their basic needs met? I'm not talking about freebies for everyone, but it seems like there are too many people in needs of these services that don't make it onto the show. How many broken homes and lives could have been helped with the $200 billion we've spent on Iraq (so far)? I still believe in the war, but don't believe in the continuing dumping of our money into the country. Let the "allies" start putting their money into this rebuilding project - after all most of them are located on the same continent. So the logic of making Iraq safe and free would benefit them more than us - wouldn't it?

Because your Buddy George "Double Fool" Bush doesn't want to help those who don't have...
Jari - you live in Finland. What do you know about our welfare and assistance programs? I've been helped out by government assistance many time in the last couple of years - during President Bush's watch.
